Modular Kitchens by Veneza in Kolkata

Kitchen is an important place in our home. This is the place where the food is cooked for us/our family. Kitchen is the place where all the items required to cook are placed, which are raw ingrediants for the cooking. The utensils for cooking and serving the food , the utensils for eating food. Hobs/cookers/ heaters /microwaves/Ovens for preparing the food in different ways , heating or reheating it, and everything else related to food.
Though in the majority of our Indian households we are still using the traditional methods of cooking  but there have been a lot of improvements the technology behind the Kitchen in recent times. The whole kitchen setup today can be done in a step wise manner in a scientific way, keeping the principles of convenience , hygiene and aesthetics in perspective.

These improvements in design were pioneered in European countries , these are wonderful improvements which compartmentalize storage, improve the hygiene considerably and reduce the overall effort before , while cooking and after cooking.

One of these concepts is   KITCHEN WORK TRIANGLE  with the three main functions in a kitchen are storage, preparation, and cooking. . Kitchen work triangle is noting but the a triangle between these three ‘work centers’ 01 The kitchen sink - the place where you clean and prepare
02 The refrigerator - the place where you’re likely to store food
03 The stovetop - the place where you cook
The main working functions in a kitchen are carried out between the hob, the sink and the refrigerator. These three points and the imaginary line between them, make up what kitchen experts call the "work triangle".

Important points of a Work Triangle are
1. No leg of the triangle should be less than 4 feet (1.2 m) or more than 9 feet (2.7 m).
2 The sum of all three sides of the triangle should be between 13 feet (4.0 m) and 26 feet (7.9 m).
3 Cabinets or other obstacles should not intersect any leg of the triangle by more than 12 inches (30 cm).
4 If possible, there should be no major traffic flow through the triangle.
5 A full-height obstacle, such as a tall cabinet, should not come between any two points of the triangle.

Kitchen work triangle led to a few common kitchen forms, commonly characterized by the arrangement of the kitchen cabinets and sink, stove, and refrigerator: There are 6 types of Kitchen layouts - Kitchen Layouts :
01 L Kitchen
02 U Kitchen
03 G Kitchen
04 Straight Kitchen
05 Gallery Kitchen
06 Island Kitchen

The Work Triangle is an example of the many principles that have to kept in mind while designing a kitchen for a family/restaurant .
One of the very important factors while designing a kitchen for the family,  are the food habits of the family itself for which the kitchen is to be designed. We have different food habits of people from different parts of India , Bengalis prepare their food differently than a Maharahtrian or a Keralite.

We at Veneza Furniture and Interiors try and understand the requirements of our clients in details so as be able to design the perfect Kitchen for them . A kitchen that looks smart and also provides convenience and ease of use for years together.
